When the COVID-19 pandemic struck in March 2020, Clarence and Wendy Weaver witnessed devastating food insecurity throughout Evanston. What began as a partnership with city officials to provide groceries to 25 families quickly exploded into a massive community lifeline, growing to serve more than 200 families twice monthly. The Weavers formally established the C&W Market Foundation to meet this overwhelming need. Every Saturday, they and more than 20 volunteers distribute fresh groceries, maintaining the same high standards for quality that they would expect for their own families. Their foundation work has become their ministry, proving that even in crisis, the work of caring for others can heal entire communities.
